A bold, wide‑flared silhouette with the strongest taper of all lampshade styles. Coolie shades, also known as cone shades, are defined by their dramatic geometry: a very small top ring paired with a wide base, creating a clean, angular profile that directs light downward beautifully.
Each Coolie shade is handcrafted to order, with a consultative process to help you customise it using your chosen fabric and preferred proportions.
Prices shown apply to our standard Coolie lampshade sizes and one‑sided construction using fabrics valued at $25 per metre. Final pricing may vary depending on fabric selection or the type of PVC backing required for your design.
Our shades are supplied with a standard E27 fitting, and conversion clips for E14, E26, and M10 fittings can be requested to ensure compatibility across a wide range of lamp bases and pendant sets. If you require a different fitting type, we’ll confirm this during our consultation.
If you need a custom size or wish to use a different fabric, simply select your preferred standard size at checkout. We’ll reach out to confirm proportions, fabric choice, PVC backing, fitting type, and provide a tailored quote before production begins.

All lampshades are handcrafted to order. Our standard production time is 2–3 weeks, depending on fabric selection and the complexity of your design. Production time for non‑standard sizes may also be influenced by the availability of materials required for your specific shade.
Shipping charges are borne by the buyer and will be billed separately. For international orders, all customs duties, taxes, and any additional import‑related charges are also the responsibility of the buyer.
Once complete, your order is carefully packaged and dispatched from Auckland. New Zealand orders are shipped via tracked courier, with delivery typically within 2–5 working days. International shipping is available on request, and delivery timeframes vary by destination. Tracking details will be provided once your order has been dispatched.

To clean your lampshade, gently dust with a soft cloth or use a low‑setting vacuum brush. Avoid harsh cleaners, moisture, or direct contact with liquids, as these may damage the fabric or PVC backing.
Use only the bulb type and wattage recommended for your lamp base or pendant set. LED bulbs are preferred for longevity and reduced heat.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Always follow your lamp base or pendant manufacturer’s guidelines regarding maximum wattage and fitting compatibility. Ensure the shade is securely installed and kept clear of heat sources.
